At 4:30pm today E40-008-12 will be taken out of service. As far as we
can tell, this is being used as an unofficial dialup machine. We announced
(by putting a local motd on it) that it would be taken out of service
today, and to notify me if this would present a problem. So far, no one
has notified me. So, it will be taken out of service today.
People who've been using e40-008-12 should be able to use any of the real
dialup machines instead.
We will leave the system up and running, with its software intact, but it
will be inaccessible to users, for another couple of weeks...just in case
soemone has a real need for it.
