for some reason a public workstation is sending me syslog errors. i'm
not sure why it is doing that, but it probably shouldn't. here a
sample:
m11-113-12 syslog daemon.notice
Oct 8 21:31:48 [m11-113-12] timed[295]: date changed by maeander from: Tue Oct 8 21:31:48 1991
> hostinfo m11-113-12
Desired host: m11-113-12
Official name: m11-113-12.MIT.EDU
Host address: 18.80.0.40
Host info: DEC/VAXSTATION-2000/UNIX
the only vax2000 that should be sending me syslog messages was
malted-vanilla, which belonged to consulting. if that was put in the
cluster, then it also has an nfs server running off it. it does!
> attach -n -e m11-113-12:/site
attach: filesystem m11-113-12:/site (m11-113-12.MIT.EDU:/site) mounted on /m11-113-12/site (read-write)
that should be probably fixed...
