Dennis - There are several problems with running zephyr in tty mode.
1. Nowhere is it suggested that a user might WANT to do this for any
useful reason. (There are directions explaining HOW, but not WHY.)
2. The default is NOT to run zephyr in tty mode, so it requires action
on the part of the user to run it, and knowledge. (Many users never
use ANY configurations on their accounts.)
3. Incoming zephyrgrams can really clutter up your screen, and be very
annoying when you're trying to get work done. This is particularly
a problem for those people who subscribe to anything beyond personal.
(It's not obvious how to sub only to personal when you're on dialup, if
you normally sub to lots of other zephyr instances.)
The sum of this is that many users, some by ignorance and some by preference,
simply don't run zephyr over dialup.
