We started a tape backup of Aphro's drive 2 last night around 6pm. The
dump encountered a read error (but continued), and many soft errors were
logged during the dump (but aphro stayed up, seemingly providing service).
I checked the console around 10pm, and found that the number of soft error
messages was way down from what it had been during the dump.
From the /use/adm/messages file, it appears that the disl dropped offline
again after 10:30pm...

Richard came in this afternoon, and brought aphro down, and back up with
drive 2 out of service. Tonight, I will call DEC about servicing the disk,
and attempt a restore from the tape we made last night. I'll send a followup
message later...

PS aphro:/u3 and aphro:/u4 are the ones that are on disk 2
PPS I'm on pager duty, and I didn't get paged by tlouie... I got paged by
