Hi-

When the field service guys came to TDC today, they fixed an HDC?? problem.
But, when I tried to test 70 on that machine, I get a line that says:

VSfmt_STS_RdMbb ..........?        <- there is a "?" instead of an "OK"

but the test 70 message says the format was successful.

combine this with this fact:

The same machine had a floppy drive problem (which for some reason was not
passed on to DEC), so field service simply blew the dust out. Now, when
when trying to load the system software onto the above hard drive via the
above floppy, I get this:

-DUA2

Ultrixboot....

bad part...
Loading...

Sizes:
text = 288532
data = 175380
Read error: bn = 1448, VMB error code 8c

as well as additional Read errors with bn's equal to 1512, 1544, 1568, etc...

The floppy drive grinds noisily during the floppy reads, as well.

Seems like we may need a new floppy. As well, something may need to be done
to the HDC or the Hard drive. Field service will be bringing back one of
our monitors tomorrow, so please file this report today so that they can deal
with these problems tomorrow.

The machine is busch, and this is actually the same or a continuation of
the report filed earlier...

Thanks,
Chucko
