The athena cell fileserver phlegethon will be unavailable for
approximately 15 minutes beginning at 3am on Tuesday, 8/13/2002 (note
that this is late Monday night). During this time, the machine will be
upgraded to Athena 9.0. This will be the last scheduled AFS fileserver
outage of this type; following phlegethon's outage, all production
Athena AFS fileservers will have been upgraded to Athena 9.0.
During the outage, all volumes stored on phlegethon will be unavailable,
and clients may experience console messages of the form:
afs: lost contact with file server 18.7.15.108 in cell athena.mit.edu.
As always, notifications regarding the status of the outage will be sent
to the consult instance.
