This is an amendment to a call I made to the hotware hotline at 5pm on
Thursday.
We have an Athena decstation 3100 that was just moved across subnets.
It is a heavily (?) customized workstation, providing mail, file, and
printing services to our other decstations and mac-OS macs.
I was told today that in order to attach the /srvd or /urvd, we must
upgrade the decstation to release 7.3. The call this afternoon was when
I was trying to figure out how to get the private files to a safe place
before taking the upgrade. I've figured that out. I still have a few
questions tho:
1. Is there any advantage in taking the upgrade as a private workstation
instead of public one?
2. If so, can I get the upgrade procedure sent to me?
3. We're running sendmail 5.64. Is this the current version for the
new release of Ultrix?
4. Who should really be getting these questions? That is, where should
I be sending questions about private workstations, departmental clusters,
that sort of thing?
