The 24" monitor on my workstation has finally become unusuable.
It used to get occasional horizontal flickering, but one day the whole
screen got these thin random black lines flickering across it (instead of
just a few bands every now and then). I can tell it's in the monitor,
not the cable or graphics card, because this is thekind of monitor where
it can put up a menu to adjust the picture: the menus get the same
flickering.. Also, Lou tried swapping the graphics card a couple months
ago, and I cleaned the contacts on the cable and connector, none of that
made a difference.
Here are the particulars:
Hostname: defiant
CPU s/n: FW84330104
MIT tag: 0331469
The monitor is Sun model number 365-1352-01
Its serial number appears to be 0010968-0024KA0442
The dead monitor is next to the door of W92-145 right now, in case you
need it to ship back (should I save the MIT property tag in that case?)
thanks!
