Hello, I sent email about 2 weeks ago about some hardware problems
out here. When the guy from DEC came by he said he wasn't authorized
to look at them because they weren't on his list. Hmmm. In case the
email bounced, here is a brief summary:
1) penguin's monitor (a VT240) is toast. We are currently using
Joker's VT220 for both Joker and Penguin, but this is a hassle. We
don't necessarily need the VT240 repaired, we just want any old
monitor that will work (another VT220 would be fine.)
2) hagbard-celine fails to boot. It doesn't even seem to begin the
boot process. It complains about "ESA0 - ?54" which the DEC guy said
was a network problem.
Also, the internet numbers for the new machines didn't pair up with
the names they were given as we were told they would. We changed our
end and everything seems to work fine, but someone over there may
have some records which are inaccurate (if you care...)
