'pelli' won't let people log in

Hi,
sometime over labor day weekend something about this decstation 3100 (running
7.2R) changed. On friday things were fine. Returning tuesday, no one can log
in. The error messages appear in a window when you log in at the console:
Unable to authenticate you, kerberos failure 31:
can't decode authentication (krb_rd_req)
When you log in via telnet, you get:
unable to verify "rcmd" ticket
The console window shows "/dev/ttyv0: permissions denied.
Do you think that upgrading to 7.3 now would help solve this problem? Our other
decstation, 'safdie' is friendly-testing 7.3 and has been running fine.
We need this fella back up, if that sort of urging can help anything along....
