cdrom in w20-575-19 not working. w20-575-23 may have bad memory

hi. there is no /dev/cdrom on w20-575-19, and "mount /mnt/cdrom" fails
to do the right thing. also, w20-575-23 also appears to have bad
memory. it only has one error, according to memtest86, but i was having
other weird problems running software on it.
