TO: Massachusetts Avenue Businesses and Residents
	(Lafayette Square to Memorial Drive)

RE:	What's left to be done on the construction for the Storm Drain Project

The South Massachusetts Avenue Storm Drain Project is nearing completion. Depending on the weather, the following is a schedule of the final work to be done by McCabe, Inc., the City's contractor.

Wednesday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 27 - Drain service installation at intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Vassar Street. During this time, there will be no parking between on the west side of Massachusetts Avenue from the railroad tracks to Vassar Street.

Wednesday, March 20 to Monday, April 1 - Tying in the existing Albany Street drain into the new previously installed drain. Installing a water main across Albany Street (west of Massachusetts Avenue). This water main installation WILL NOT necessitate a water shutdown in any building. During this time, there will be no parking on Albany Street from Massachusetts Avenue to Cross Street. If necessary, Albany Street (west of Massachusetts Avenue) may be closed to do this work, and a detour will be in effect. However, the street will be open to local traffic.

Wednesday March 27 to Monday, April 8 - Finishing force main installation at Lafayette Square in front of Cinderella's Restaurant, continuing the installation from Main Street onto the sidewalk in front of the Pu-Pu Hot Pot Restaurant and ending on Columbia Street. During this time, there will be no parking on Main Street from Columbia Street to Toscanni's Ice Cream.

"No Parking" restrictions will be in effect between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. within the immediate work areas. "The contractor will post "No Parking" signs 24 hours before the work is to be done.

If you have and questions about this work, please contact Anthony Haskell, Resident Engineer for S E A Consultants Inc., the City's engineering consultant at (617) 498-4603, or me at (617) 349-4845.

Sincerely,

Owen O'Riordan, P.E.
Assistant Commissioner of Engineering
