Carson Chow has reported that his PVAX keeps receiving the 'No Hesiod Info'
message from time to time. This hangs his workstation up. Upon investigation,
I have found that the 10Base-T Transceiver with Lanview is bad. Carson was in a
bind, because he needed this workstation. So, the following is what I have
done:
Seeing that the print server is down in the adjacent
38-246 room, I have swapped the 10Base-T transceivers.
The original transceiver, which resided in 38-250 has the
S/N of AA191070215. This, again is the bad transceiver,
which I have moved to 38-246. This is sitting on top of the
LNO3 with a note taped on it.
The good transceiver, which resided in 38-246 has the S/N
of AA191070253. This transceiver is now in 38-250 hooked
up to Carson's PVAX which is allowing him to carry on with
his work. As a rule, I generaly do not switch hardware
around. In this particular situation, I felt it was
necessary.
In conclusion, a new transceiver is needed A.S.A.P. to
replace the bad one in 38-246.
Thanks Much,
