Hi there
I am having problems with two workstations here at pika. The first
one is pride.mit.edu on which I can no longer use the keyboard. For this
reason it is not possible to boot the machine past the first system
tests. I have attempted to power cycle the machine after all attempts at
restarting it failed. This did not help. Pride hasn't been too
troublesome of late and so I don't know what the current problem might be.
The second workstation that is not working is sloth.mit.edu
(18.141.0.4) that doesn't even run the first set of system tests. This
machine has been turned off for much of the summer as there wasn't much
demand for workstations here at pika. I noticed this problem when I
tried to turn on sloth. I believe the problem with sloth is that of a
bad disk. There were a number of bad blocks on the disk.
