All day today (and not at all before today) I've had problems with
system response to my middle mouse button, in twm, mwm, emacs, and EZ.
The symptom is that either
-- no response at all, or
-- the response to a drag is what should be the response to a
click, ie menu pops up and waits for 2nd click.
I don't know if it's mechanical or something in the way the release is
handling buttonEvents, so I'm sending this to both testers and hardware
hotline.
Since I'm using EZ to finish up slide sets in time for training next
Monday, I have some need for that middle button.

I've been playing around some more, and I'm pretty sure it's a hardware
problem -- sometimes it only recognizes a Down after the button is
released, just before the Up.
Could somebody please come by with a spare mouse today for thelonious at
VAXstation 3100 in 11-320? I have a lot of EZ work to finish in the
next few days, and it's hard to work with a cranky mouse.
