The news server on senator-bedfellow.mit.edu (news.mit.edu) will be
down for 2 hours for a software upgrade, in the evening of Friday,
Nov 2nd from 11PM until 1AM. For the duration of the outage, news
reader clients will be unable to connect to the news server.
News server software will be upgraded during this outage to a newer
version, which includes a number of performance enhancements and bug
fixes. Discuss and other services on senator-bedfellow should not be
affected by this outage.
