Today around 2:00 I tried to log in to tailgunner. After I typed my
password and hit return, the login window disappeared, and for a minute
or two after that, there seemed to be no activity. The console window didn't
show itself as normally happens. The mouse cursor wasn't frozen. I
rebooted the machine, but after some activity, it printed this:
Unrecoverable filesystem errors
Please contact Athena Operations
Halting machine...
syncing disks... done
halting.... (transfering to monitor)
After that, it yielded a command prompt. At the suggestion of a line
previous to the above, we tried to run fsck, but this message was
returned:
no device and $path not set: fsck
fsck: Command not found
