Hi,
Hopefully I'm writing to the appropriate email address (please let me know
if i'm not):
I'm the administrator of the "Bricks" Printer in Baker, and I have a
question regarding getting new printer supplies, etc. Will SIPB or IS
provide new toner cartridges for the printer (on the order of one per
semester)?
If the answer is no, would either group consider providing that
service? Here are some valid points:
1. Bricks is available to any student on campus
2. Many non-Bakerites frequently print to Bricks, for various
purposes. Some print to it when they are at an Athena Cluster if there is
a long line at the Athena printer. Others will print to the Baker printer,
and pick it up when they are visiting a Baker resident, or so forth.
3. There is an Athena station in Baker whose default printer is Bricks, and
both Baker and non-Baker residents use the printer from there constantly.
4. Bricks only needs toner about once every semester-and-a-half, so at most
it would be 2 toners per year.
5. If I'm not mistaken, other dorms have printers whose supplies are
maintained by one of the on-campus computing groups.
Please let me know if this sounds like something that would be possible.
