Hi,
I hope this is the correct address for this sort of problem. If not, I
apologise in advance.
We have in our computer room an athena workstation (eecs-ath-20.mit.edu
aka zeppelin.mit.edu) that is set up as a private workstation, but is in
fact owned by the EECS department and provided for our use. It does not
want to upgrade itself to the new version of athena because there is
insufficient disk space (I believe it complains about both / and /usr
not having enough space). The result is that we have recently lost the
ability to run netscape, matlab, etc, since correct Solaris binaries
cannot be found. We did not do any sort of non-standard installations
in that machine - i.e. it runs only athena software with the original
hardware. It is bolted to the desk and I was told once that "the athena
people" are the only ones with a key to open it up, just to reinforce
that we have not messed with it.
What should we do?
Thanks,
Wojciech Giziewicz
