Hi folks;
The Ultra5 "namur", part of the ISP cluster in Room 16-168,
appears to have a bad disk. It was updating to
Athena 9, and spewed some errors about "Disk not found".
I did a manual net-boot and the fsck's it suggested, which
caused thousands of bad link counts to get fixed
on consecutive blocks, but after all that the reboot
still fails in the middle -- "Can't find boot device".
Sounds like a hardware problem. However, just prior
to the attempted upgrade, it seemed to have been working
just fine (Athena 8.4).
That cluster is in the back of the classroom which has
a Simplex lock. Please have someone in the ISP
Headquarters across the hall (16-177, x3-4074)
let you in, or I can (I'm in 16-236, x8-7487), if
you don't have a master key.
Thank you.
