Approximately 6pm last evening, a contractor cored a hole through a
single phase electrical duct in the floor of 4-215, which caused emergency
power outages in buildings 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 11. Normal power was not
effected, however, emergency power will be out indefinitely. As a result,
telephones, elevators, fire protection and some emergency lights are still
out. Repair and Maintenance is currently working on transferring these
services to normal power temporarily while the repairs to the emergency
feeder are being made. There may be noise resulting from this work, which
we will try to minimize as much as possible
As the situation develops, we will provide further updates. We
apologize for the inconvenience this out has caused.
If you have any questions, please contact Paul Stordy through the
central repair line, FIXIT (x3-4948)
Sincerely,
Mary Tobin
