The Athena NFS and Solaris install server solar.mit.edu will be
unavailable for approximately 2 hours beginning at 11pm on Thursday,
7/26/2001. During this time, the machine will be moved from E40 to W92.
The machine will also be reconfigured to install Athena 9.0/Solaris 8 by
default.
Services affected will be the "mb", "afsadm", and "CLU" lockers,
and Solaris installation. Solaris install service is replicated on
jason.mit.edu (18.179.0.32), and should remain available for the
duration of the outage.
After the outage is completed, these IP addresses will be valid
Solaris install servers:
18.179.0.32 (jason's IP address - not changing)
18.7.15.98 (new IP address for solar)
These IP addresses will no longer be valid:
18.159.0.21
18.159.0.28
As always, status notifications will be sent to the consult
instance.
