A woman, by the name of Ena called the 1410 recorder and stated that the
PVAX at this location was losing contact with the volume server. I had
contacted Ron Hoffmann, who told me that someone had called the help desk
and stated that a receptacle and a repeater was installed today somewhere
on the 2nd floor in 48. A person named Lynn was also able to gain access to
Prof. Mei's office. His PVAX also stated the same volume server messages.
From what I understand, these drops/network are not supported by the network
people. I have gone to this facility twice this evening with JJ. I just
wanted to rule out a hardware problem with this machine. It is quite possible
that more complaints will role in from the 4th floor. What happened to these
2 PVAX's in 48-411, and 48-449 must be related to the construction and or the
do it yourself people who are running network cables, and installing repeaters.
I also understand that a person by the name of Lois Benett is the new cluster
manager for this facility. Is there any special way that these type of problems
should be handled by us cluster patrol people regarding this 48 facility??
