We have a non working sgi in 9-550. It's due for a replacement - could
this happen sooner?

This needs athena service. The last error log messages I saw were
about scsi controller errors and it gets fatal errors and panics
on booting.
It is an sgi R5000.
I can't get into the diagnostics since someone set the root password.
