OK, one more clarification, snce I'm told there was confusion on this
issue. This problem will not prevent people from logging in and using
the system, but it will prevent various system functions (eg, taking
patch releases) from occuring. So even if you can log into the
machine, you still need to fix /etc/athena/rc.conf to have
HOST=weboffice3.mit.edu; and rm /var/athena/rc.conf.sync.
