The mouse previously attached to pickled-herring, the Dell machine
closest to the door of the SIPB office, seems to have suffered a
mysterious failure. The mouse just seems to not work at all;
rebooting the machine with it plugged in leads to a Kudzu prompt that
there's no longer a PS/2 mouse connected to the system, and it
helpfully offers to remove the mouse configuration for you. Other
pointing devices attached to the machine seem to work fine.
The mouse is a generic Logitech three-button mouse ("MODEL:
M-CAA43"). Could it be replaced with a new one? Thanks...
