Between 1am and 2am this Friday night/Saturday morning
(10/6/2000 - 10/7/2000), the AFS protection database (prdb) for the
athena.mit.edu cell will be resynchronized with Moira. This is a step
in the process of purging the users who were deactivated this past
January. During this time, changes made to groups in Moira will not be
immediately propogated to AFS; they will be delayed but will not be
lost. There will also be a brief slowdown in the athena cell when the
new database is put into place.
As always, notifications regarding the status of the outage will
be sent to the "consult" instance.
