The dev.mit.edu AFS database server wham.mit.edu will go down
for a hardware upgrade the evening of Tuesday 8/1/2000, at 11:00 pm.
The outage is expected to last less than 30 minutes, but we're
scheduling one hour for this outage in case of unexpected events.
All data stored on wham is replicated. Accessing the dev cell during
the outage may result in console messages to the effect of "afs: Lost
contact with volume location server 18.86.0.28 in cell dev.mit.edu",
although no data should be unavailable during the outage.
As always, status messages regarding the outage will go to the zephyr
instance "consult".
