Hi! About 10 days ago, I created a directory "thesis.data". I
wanted to move 4 compressed files of mine to this directory from my
main directory. At the prompt I typed "mv file.mss.Z thesisdata" for
each one. I forgot to type the "dot"; (ie., I typed "thesisdata"
instead of "thesis.data")
Thus, my "thesis.data directory" is now empty and I now
probably have only the last compressed file that I tried to move under
the name of "thesisdata".
The names of the four files were 1) info.mss.Z
2) survey.mss.Z
3) COUCHES.mss.Z
4) consent.mss.Z
This was all done on a vax in building 6 on the 2.5 floor. The
machine I believe was m6-218m-17. The only other vax there is
m6-218m-21. I used the machine on the right which I believe is #17.
I would really appreciate if anything could be done to retrieve these
files.
