Hello,
I have been informed by net-security that they have detected a security
breach on our Sun workstation. Net-security recommended a complete
clean reinstall of the Athena software. We had a reinstall performed
in January 2000, but apparently it was not a clean reinstall (i.e., wipe
the disk clean and then reinstall on the blank hard disk).
I would like to arrange this, but I need a day or two to verify that
files of importance have been backed off the internal hard disk.
The workstation in question is:
bnl-ultra.mit.edu
NE20-355 (above the Coop)
(Prof. Suzanne Corkin's lab)
Sun Ultra 5
As I mentioned before, we need to coordinate the timing a little, just to make
sure that we have backed up everything. (We have an external hard drive, and
I will make sure that everything we want to keep will be copied over to the external.)
Thank you.
Bob Sugiura
