w20-575-44 is unable to start x, giving the following error.

X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
After about 10 repeats
INIT stops automatically restarting X, waiting for five minutes.

Note that this same machine was mentioned in the following email 
that was sent to linux-testers earlier today.

Question:
I'm currently sitting on one of the linux workstations in the w20 cluster and
i can see significant screen flicker. the mode for these boxes is set to
1280x1024 @ 62.4 hz. The monitor menu has an option for recommended
resolution and it recommends 1280x1024 @ 85Hz. I propose that the XF86Config
be updated to more realistically reflect the capabilities of the monitor.
Currently the maximum hsync frequency is set too low.
