Adam is continuing to have problems. They seem to be getting worse. In
the last couple of days, it corrupted a block in the kernel (gave a
"fatal controller error" when booting); I ran rqbads (which "rewrote"
6 blocks), rebooted (successfully, but the kernel checksum (sum) was
bad), replaced the kernel, rebooted again, and fsck found _another_
bad block on the disk, even though I had run rqbads in the last 20
minutes.

So, I ran rqbads again, which now rewrote 6 more (different) blocks,
and the machine came up. But I don't know how much longer it can
remain useful. It is our NFS server.
