I've rebooted soup and reconnected its ethernet. Before rebooting it, I
tried logging in as root (it was the standard "watchmaker" password),
but the root login was broken so that console logins didn't work --- it
would think for a long time and then go back to the login window, and
when I tried logging via xdm, it couldn't handle not being connected to
the network and just hung forever. While I was trying to login via the
console, I noted that the load was 18 or 19, so there were a lot of
processes trying to do _something_. I settled for rebooting it and
making sure there weren't leftover turds in /usr/spool/mqueue before
letting it come up the rest of the way.
