Subject: Emergency Power Interruption - Friday, 12/3 - 10 AM for 10 Seconds

Emergency power will be briefly interrupted this Friday morning December 3rd
at exactly 10am for about 10 seconds.
Interested parties can witness any effects within their spaces and can
e-mail me directly at wpwohlfa@mit.edu <mailto:wpwohlfa@mit.edu>
<mailto:wpwohlfa@mit.edu <mailto:wpwohlfa@mit.edu> > with concerns,
observations, and/or comments following the test.
Affected buildings are listed below with one exception - delete Bldg. 16
from the list.
1,2,3,4,5,6, 6a,7,7a, 8,9,10,11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 24, 26, 31, 33, 34, 35,
36 , 37,38, 39, 50, 54, 62, 64, 66, E1, E3, E17, E18, and E19.
All other buildings, not in above list, have local emergency generators or
have battery powered emergency lights.
The loads on the emergency loop are in most cases 'life-safety' egress loads
only ...i.e., emergency lighting, and exit signs, but also sewage ejectors,
some building controls, fire alarm panels, some fans.
We propose to perform the testing during normal daytime business hours for
several reasons:
	1.	Egress lighting is less critical during daylight hours
	2.	Occupants can report to us any equipment other than egress
lighting that was affected.
	3.	Occupants can reset and or monitor any critical loads such
as freezers during these times.
	4.	A full facilities staff is present to resolve any problems
that may arise.

We wish to complete the testing and have any technical issues resolved
before Y2K.
Bill Wohlfarth, P.E.
