The sipb.mit.edu AFS database server ronald-ann.mit.edu will go
down for a software update the evening of Friday 9/17/1999 at 11:00
pm. It will be unavaiable for approximately 2 hours, and may be back up
in as litte as 1 hour.
All data on ronald-ann is replicated. While users may
experience temporary hangs or see console messages to the effect of
"afs: Lost contact with volume location server 18.181.0.23 in cell
sipb.mit.edu", no data should be unavailable during the outage.
As always, status messages regarding the outage will go to the
zephyr instance "consult".
