A user just reported a problem with the "thesis" printer:
lpq -Pthesis
M11-226-P.MIT.EDU... Warning: thesis is down: thesis is ready and printing
Warning: no daemon present
[thesis daemon 14300 does not exist yet, try again in a minute]
