Since this looks like a print server problem rather than hardware
problem, I'll see what I can do to debug it.

First of all, as you've probably noticed, Ops is in the process of
upgrading the print servers.  The problem you describe is similar to a
problem we saw on the old print servers, in which a sufficiently large
job would not leave the print queue.  mulch.mit.edu was upgraded on
July 30.  If you have seen the problem since then, it is presumably a
different problem, and we should work on fixing it.

If it's the case that this still happens regulairly, is it possible for
you to save a copy of print job which triggers the problem (by this I
mean the postscript file)?  The other thing which would be helpful to
notice is the output of lpq, immediatly after a problematic job has
printed the first time.
