The dev.mit.edu fileserver rattle.mit.edu will go down for software
and hardware upgrades the evening of Saturday 7/24/1999, at 11:00 pm.
It may be down for up to four hours, although if all goes well, the
outage time may be reduced.
All data on rattle will be unavailable for the duration of the outage,
including the read-write copies of many Athena 8.3 beta and early
system packs. Read-only copies of all the system packs will still be
available from other dev cell fileservers, however, so client
workstations should not be rendered unusable.
As always, status messages regarding the outage will go to the zephyr
instance "consult".
