The sipb.mit.edu AFS server reynelda.mit.edu will be unavailable
for a period that should not exceed 2 hours beginning at 11pm this
Thursday, 7/22/99 for a hardware and software upgrade. If all goes
well, it could be back in as little as 30 minutes.
All data stored on reynelda is replicated. During the outage, users may
experience "afs: Lost contact with volume location server 18.181.0.19 in
cell sipb.mit.edu" console messages, but no data should be unavailable
during this time. The outage will force an election of a new sync site
for the sipb.mit.edu cell, so clients accessing the sipb cell at this
time may hang briefly.
As always, status messages regarding the outage will go to the zephyr
instance "consult".
