The sipb.mit.edu AFS server ronald-ann2.mit.edu will be
unavailable for a period that should not exceed 45 minutes beginning
at 11pm this Wednesday, 7/21/99 for preventative maintenance; A disk
that had previously failed is being replaced.
During this time, all data stored on ronald-ann will be unavailable, and
users may experience "afs: Lost contact with file server 18.181.0.23 in
cell sipb.mit.edu" console messages. The Linux and NetBSD system packs,
as well as all portions of the sipb locker are replicated, however, and
should remain accessible throughout the outage.
As always, status messages regarding the outage will go to the zephyr
instance "consult".
