That error message means some other machine on the subnet is trying to
steal m2-032-10's IP address. The network group should be able to find
the offending machine, so I'm forwarding this to them.

Subject: building 2
Something is funny with some of the building 2-032 machines. I was on
m2-032-10, and got a message about "Hardware address trying to be my
address",
and then I lost contact to all afs file & volume servers. I then rebooted
the machine and logged on to m2-032-8, where the same thing happened. The
error message is:
WARNING: IP: Hardware address '08:00:20:9c:2b:43' trying to be our address
018.074.001.037!
Someone might be trying to hack into these machines?
