Some sipb servers will be shut down during the evening and night of
Wednesday, July 7, starting sometime after 7pm, in order to connect
them to a new Matrix 5000 UPS.
This will affect reading news from (and posting news to) news.mit.edu,
accessing web pages via the sipb web server www.mit.edu, and accessing
discuss meetings on the servers bloom-picayune.mit.edu and
bloom-beacon.mit.edu.
There aren't any changes planned to these servers during this time
period -- the objective is to unplug them and then plug them into a
different outlet that's connected to this new UPS.
