The three servers in the sipb.mit.edu AFS cell will each be
unavailable for a period that should not exceed 30 minutes during the 4
hour period from 12am Saturday evening/Sunday morning until 4am Sunday
morning. During this time, clients may experience "lost contact with
fileserver" error messages in their consoles, and nonreplicated data
stored on each fileserver will not be accessible while that server is
down for maintainence. The system packs for Linux and NetBSD Athena
workstations and the sipb locker are replicated, however, and should
remain acessible throughout the entire outage window; other lockers in
the sipb cell, such as the outland locker, may be unavailable during
portions of the outage. Notifications about the status of the outage
will be sent to -i consult.
