The server 'keep' (a Sun Sparc 4 in Room 9-550a) mysteriously dropped off the
network this afternoon. It looks like a hardware problem with its network
adapter, as I substituted several network cables and drops without success,
plus confirmed that keep's original cable worked fine on another computer.
When keep's network cable is removed, it notices that the le0 interface is not
connected, but the machine won't reboot properly because of its network
problems, and other machines cannot ping it. There is no broader network
outage that is affecting nearby similar machines.

Please come by to service this machine ASAP. This machine is a production
backup and print server, and its failure will significantly disrupt our users.
To restore service quickly, I plan to swap its disk with one in a similar
machine, jensen, and I will place the defective unit in our Backyard area in
Room 9-514.
