Tomorrow evening (6/10/99) beginning at midnight, dill.mit.edu
will experience a scheduled outage for a hardware and software upgrade.
dill is an slw server, the larvnet/cview server, and the
Versions/Testtrack server. User impact during this outage will be
minimal, but will exist. SLW service is replicated on minos, so no
outage of slw service should be noticed. larvnet/cview service will be
unavailable during the outage, however, as this service is not
replicated.
This outage will also effect MacOS and Windows software which
uses Testtrack. Such software, which includes MacZephyr, TechMail, and
some other MIT developed and released applications, will experience
timeouts which may be as long as 90 seconds, but all software should
start despite being unable to contact the Testtrack server.
This outage should be very brief. I anticipate about a 10-15
minute outage window in all affected services, although I'm allowing for
up to an hour in case complications arise.
