defoliate always jams in duplex mode

Hi,
The printer defoliate always jams when printing double-sided. The
paper bunches up underneath the flap with the green handle and then it
freezes up. When you remove the paper and reset the printer, it tries
again and of course it jams again.
Is there a way to dequeue the double-sided print jobs that people have
given up on? That way the printer isn't stuck on the job. (I've
removed a jam ~7 times so far and the printer keeps trying to print it
out). Is there a way fix the problem with the double-sided printing?
