hi.
in the back room of W20-575 (the one with the SGIs; where the printer
"fiber" is) there are what look like 2 ac units hung from the
ceiling. The one that is closer to the main room (or further away
from fiber) has been making a very annoying sound on and off for
a few months now. Some days it's fine, but other days it is constantly
producing a whinning screeching sound that makes one want to
jump up there and rip its power cord out.
if i had to guess at the source of the problem, i'd say that it's
either an unbalanced fan (perhaps caused by dust build-up)
or a loose mounting bracket. Most likely the latter caused by the
former... :-)
in any case... it's really, really, really annoying (as perhaps
i may have mentioned only a few lines ago). I would greatly
appreciate if someone could look at it.
