The printer queue for nil is going to begin to fill up; I'm afraid it's
all my fault. The error a Printer Engine Error: (Top/Middle) Paper Tray Jammed,
and results from my attempt to print a multiple page 11"x17" document.
At least I think that's what's causing the problem.
But why, you ask, forgetting about the immediate problem, is a low-life civilian
daring to attempt a violation of the sacred NIL? Well, for none other that a
project associated with a student group, and approved by Peter Roden. (You
remember Peter...) So before you get your hackles up, this is NOT personal use.
Okay. Enough said about that.
There is a problem happening, and that is my main concern. When you solve it,
I would be very interested to know how you did. More important than solving
the problem, however, is preventing it. If we can figure this out together,
all will be happy. In case you need to look at it, the offending file is in
/afs/athena/user/w/who/rune/TheBook/Prose.PS. I mean, that is the file which
has confused the printer engine. I added the line:
2 statusdict begin setpapertray end
which I assume sets the printer feed to the second (middle) paper tray. Perhaps
it doesn't know to stay there for subsequent pages, and thus gets confused.
Anyway, I'd prefer not to fuss around with it myself, for a number of reasons.
So please let me know what to do (and what not to do) to prevent problems in
the future. If necessary, I'm willing to track down the answer through other
staff members. It would help if you let me know at least who the "right"
people to talk with are. Thank you for your time and consideration.
