| Hi John--
| I'm sorry - I don't know what you are talking about.

OK, well, that seems like an excellent reason for no notification
from you.

| I didn't have any "power" shutdown notification for Bldg. 64. I'm
| not sure what bathroom "power" is but this didn't come from repair
| and maintenance people.

Sorry, 120VAC utility power to bathrooms.

| Do you have another contact source? If so, please let me know
| ... I'm curious about this too! And ... if I know about is then
| shutdowns@mit.edu (the network people) will know too! Did you check
| with the housing people? They often have outside contractors do work
| for them.

I haven't pursued vigorously, the attached message was what prompted
me to inquire of you. It certainly implies Facilities is involved ;-)
(Geri-Lyn is House Manager for building 64).

Thanks.

Facilities (Physical Plant) is doing work in Bemis basement to make way for
new fire panels. I was told they would be shutting down the power in Bemis
bathroom outlets only. That's when I sent out the e-mail on 12/17 to the
East Parallel informing the residents of the work. Well, after the
shutdown they found out that someone had connected the network and cable
system to the bathroom power in Bemis. Therefore causing the network and
cable to go out in the entire East Parallel. I've been assured the network
and cable will be back on by the end of the day.
