The zip drives in the student center cluster do not seem to be working.
When I try to access a zip disc, I get the following:
athena% add -f mtools
athena% mdir z:
ld.so.1: mdir: fatal: relocation error: file mdir: symbol media_oldaliases: referenced symbol not found
Killed
athena% mdir z:
ld.so.1: mdir: fatal: relocation error: file mdir: symbol media_oldaliases: referenced symbol not found
Killed
athena%
athena% mdir x:
init: non-existant partition
Cannot initialize 'X:'
athena% mdir y:
init Y: sector size too big
Cannot initialize 'Y:'
and in the console:
12:24 WARNING: /iommu@0,10000000/sbus@0,10001000/espdma@4,8400000/esp@4,8800000/sd@5,0 (sd5):

I know there has been a problem with the drives for a while. Has it not
been fixed yet? The people at OLC have told me that the problem has been
fixed, and that it was a matter of updating the mtools box. However, I
still can't get the zip drives to work. I know that my disk is fine
because I was able to read it on another computer.
Can you please let me know on which machines the zip drives are working
and, what I should be doing other than adding mtools? This is very
important because I have stored a lot of the data I need for my thesis
on a zip drive, and my thesis is due Jan. 15.
Thanks in advance,
Alexis Smith
